Frequently Asked Questions

  • How does tutoring work? What equipment do I need?

You do not need any special software or applications, just a computer with an internet connection and audio. A small white board is optional, along with a printer for printing out work and answer sheets that are provided.

  • How much does tutoring cost? What is included in the price?

Each week your child will have access to a pre-test to assess their current ability, a recorded explicit tutoring session with a fully qualified teacher/tutor, along with access to printable work and answer sheets. This is then followed by a weekly post-test, to show their learning for the week. Parents will be given weekly progress results. Upon completion of the weekly work, students will have a final exam, covering all elements of the program and be able to download and print their persoanlised certificate of competency. YES, all this, each week for the duration of the course.

Tutoring programs run for 5 weeks at a time and at full price are valued at $375, which equals to only $75 per week.

  • Will my child be able to engage online? How can I be sure the lessons are effective?

Children of all levels have grown accustomed to working on online platforms, using similar technology at school and throughout remote learning. Our explicit approach to each lesson, along with regular assessments, all work to provide students (and parents) with confidence and measurable learning outcomes.

Parents will be sent weekly progress reports, so that they are able to track their child's progress and engagement.

  • How interactive are the tutoring sessions?

Each tutoring session is recorded in real time, with the tutor guiding the students through concepts, theory, worked examples and practice questions. Students and their parents will have the option to communicate with the tutor via email or telephone for the duration of their course. Communication is designed to be two way and collaborative.

  • Will I get the same tutor each time? How can I be sure they are sufficiently qualified?

Yes, at Australian Primary Tutoring we understand the importance of building relationships and consistency in student learning; therefore, you will always communicate with the same tutor for the duration of your program. All our tutors are Bachelor qualified teachers with multiple years of classroom experience. We pride ourselves in our tutors being lifelong learners themselves, employing high achievers who hold specific professional development qualifications.

  • What if my child misses a session?

All program weekly sessions are recorded, so students are able to access, stop, start and replay all sessions at any time, for the duration of their program.

  • Does the program align with the school curriculum?

Yes, each program is in line with the current Australian national curriculum, and therefore, will support and enhance what your child is learning at school.

  • Do you offer 1-on-1 private lessons? What if these program topics don’t suit?

At this stage Australian Primary Tutoring only offers 5-week programs on specific concepts and targeted areas of learning.

We believe these are the concepts that many students struggle with and have endeavored to focus on these for our flagship programs at this stage. If there is a specific area you would like to see a program developed in, please feel free to get in touch as we are always developing our content.
